The car in the maximum version with a diesel engine, specifically the M550d with a 3.0 diesel engine and 3 turbochargers.
The price of 520d and 550d cars can differ by up to 3 times: 550d – 25-38000$, 520d – 10-15000$.
This modification is very rare on the market and on the roads, usually imported from Europe. The 50d versions are always distinguished by the gray color of the mirrors, which is not the case for 20-30-40d.
Exterior:
The appearance is very beautiful, in blue, as this is a facelift version with Adaptive LED headlights and 20-inch wheels.
Technical details:
It is equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine N57 with three turbochargers, engine power is around 380 horsepower and 750Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, which is quite impressive for a stock diesel engine.
Maintenance:
The 50d is significantly more expensive than the 30d and 40d, spare parts are different, and the work is more inconvenient and expensive. Reliability: the engine is quite technological and picky about quality maintenance. After 260,000 kilometers, the timing chains were replaced, the turbos were not yet confirmed for repair, and the emissions system is intact.
Equipment:
The car is equipped with active cruise control, Adaptive LED, surround view, 360-degree cameras, keyless entry, M steering wheel, LED dashboard, black ceiling with a panoramic roof, Harman/Kardon sound system, and comfortable ventilated seats.
Driving experience:
The car is quite stiff due to the 20-inch wheels and low-profile tires. The car's dynamics are very good, and compared to the 40d, the torque from low revs is much greater. Fuel consumption in the city will be more than ten liters, on the highway 7-8 liters. The cabin is quiet and comfortable.
