OP OP! 3-liter diesel fans — this series is for you!
We’ve prepared a review of a real racing beast with unexpected results. If you’re into 3.0 diesels, rear-wheel drive, and a turbo — pay attention, it’s going to be interesting.
Location: We’re now at our new base on Beresteiska. We’ve set up a modern client and manager area, installed a barrier. Creating a place where it’s nice not only to leave your car but also to drop by for a coffee.
Main character — BMW 530d Touring, 2006.

Pre-facelift body and headlights, but under the hood — a facelifted M57N2 engine with piezo injectors. One of the most successful BMW diesel engine modifications. Specs: manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, Touring. Stock this engine delivers 231 hp, but we decided to give it a new life.

What’s done:
Complete maintenance. Chains and gaskets replaced — at 280k mileage, the chains were nearly perfect.
Identified an issue with the high-pressure fuel pump: piezo injectors increase the load. Replaced the pump with an R90 from the pre-facelift version.
Flashed a Stage 3 tune, installed a custom Wagner M2 intercooler and pipes.
Turbo: After a clutch slip failure — fully rebuilt. Cold side now has a 71 mm impeller (was 60 mm). Hot side left stock to avoid incorrect operation risks.
Exhaust: Straight 80 mm pipe. Not perfect yet, but planning a twin pipe with a diffuser.
Clutch: Custom from an M5 E39: perfect fit basket, new original disc and flywheel.
Injectors serviced, installed an oil catch can and a cover from a 35d.
Aerobox shifter — Ukrainian-made, comfortable, with a quality joint.
Dashboard: Custom M-series with red needles — a shot of emotion every time you start the car.
Front brakes: Custom from a G30 540i, 348 mm discs on spacers. Brakes much better than stock 535/545 and even more effective than the M5.
Tires: TOYO 888R — one of the best, but extremely dangerous in the wet. Considering Mickey Thompsons as an option.
Planning to test what this car will show with a TurboDock turbo and later with TurboSystems.
Dyno results:
Day 1 — 393 hp
Day 2 — 396 hp
Current 0–100 time: 12–14 seconds. But we’re not stopping here.

Final thoughts:
This engine, costing up to $1,000 in stock form with a turbo, can produce nearly 400 hp.

And that’s a level surpassing many more expensive engines like the M20. BMW E-series with an M57 isn’t just a budget option — it’s a true weapon if you know how to handle hardware. So if you’re into 3-liter diesels, value power, a manual, and appreciate a custom approach — you’re on the same wavelength as us.
