OP OP! Fourth article about the BMW E92 335i, now with a manual transmission!
Exterior Changes:
Side skirts like the M3 were added, a shadow line appeared, original APEX wheels were installed, and the rear bumper was replaced with an M-TECH one with a Chinese diffuser.
Before the APEX wheels, other wheels were installed that didn’t fit the car at all.
Technical Changes: A manual transmission was installed.
Interior Changes: The interior film was corrected with black gloss paint, the steering wheel was reupholstered in Alcantara, the seat belts were reupholstered in yellow, and the gear selector was replaced.
As with many N54 engines, ignition misfires appeared, so the remaining 3 injectors were replaced, the fuel pump control unit was replaced, and the fuel pump itself was replaced.
Installation of the Manual Transmission instead of the Automatic:
A manual transmission from an N54 engine with a flywheel was purchased. The manual transmission is twice the size of the N52 box, and the same size as the N54 6HP automatic. After installing the manual transmission, there was no need to change the driveshaft. The differential was also welded.
After 10 months of ownership and 10,000 kilometers of driving, the car has been invested with its full value…
Suspension Modifications:
To improve the suspension's firmness, M3 silent blocks were installed, and the rear stabilizer from the BMW E93 was replaced.
Results:
The car has a cool exterior, great interior, good power reserve, well-tuned suspension, and handling – providing the owner with a lot of emotions.
