Turbo and suspension repair (262,000 km): With the turbo and control arms replacement, turbo restoration — $350, replacement of front control arms Narayen (reinforced) — $250, clutch and flywheel — $700. Total amount: $1,300.
Body and undercarriage repair (289,000 km): Body and undercarriage work: sandblasting, painting, and protection — $1,000, welding of sills and restoration of brake lines — $800, replacement of brake lines with copper ones — $150, replacement of longitudinal control arms — $500. Total amount: $2,500.
Final service (290,000 km): Final service: oil change, air filter, oil filter — $125, additional diagnostics and minor maintenance work — $50. Total amount: $175.
Total maintenance costs for the year: $5,565. This means monthly expenses are around $465.
What to expect without major breakdowns? If there hadn't been issues like the turbo and clutch, expenses could have been much lower, within the range of $1,000–$1,500 per year.
